I often have people call and inquire about how driving lessons are split up. People that know me know I prefer quality over speed. I am not one that wants to crank them out.
3 2 hr lessons are okay. But I find that students will still need drivers training. In theory 2 hr lessons are quick and its over with. But isn't the point to teach the person how to drive. Which actually takes time. People are forgetful, especially teenagers. I go through the whole training process and the student will turn towards me during lesson four and say so what is an Automatic fail? My Answer: Everything I just taught you. Everything you learned over these 5 lessons is a course in how not to fail! Most of my students pass on the first try. They get a good score. Because I actually spend that time teaching them. Not only how to pass the drivers test but also how to be safe. They don't always realize that is what I am doing but that is exactly what I am doing. Safety is number one. In the car with me and without me! Comfort is important. If you are short, you NEED a P.I.L.L.O.W!!! How can you drive effectively if you cannot see, or you can't relax because the seat is swallowing you up! This is not a game. Trust that anyone learning with advanced technology on their vehicle will need additional help. New technology reminds me of how we act when the remote is lost for the TV. We still have to know how to turn it on and change the channels.
I will be doing a separate blog regarding advanced technology.
I prefer 5 lessons. For some people that can turn into 6 1 hr lessons depending on the students ability to drive safely and effectively. But we should keep in mind we should not be in a rush....
Does this mean I don't do 2 hr lessons. No each person is an individual and I evaluate each case accordingly. However, I do not prefer to do 2 hr lessons if I am taking the individual for their drivers test. Unless the individual shows a great ability to drive according to how the DMV requires an individual to be able to drive to receive their drivers license.
