The best thing you can do once you or your student receive their new permit is to sign up for drivers training. When you:
A) allow your student to begin driving with you, you inadvertently make a way for your new driver to make some bad habits. Habits that the instructor will have to help your student break in order to be successful on drive test day.
B) allow your student to hold into their permit to the last minute and then need to rush the training process so that your students permit doesn't expire before they have the chance to take their drive test.
Both scenarios create unnecessary stress and are not ideal ways to begin a successful training environment.
To combat this:
A) Start drivers training as soon as possible. Once you have started training with a reputable company like It's Your Turn Driving School, then you can legally begin driving with your student.
The student has a full 12 months from the date the permit was issued to get their license.
B) Minors must have 6 hours of drivers training 50 hours of practice and have had their permit for 6 months and 1 day before they are eligible for their drivers' test, that can sound like a long time until you are trying to teach someone how to drive who has NEVER been behind the wheel before.
Students go through many emotions,
FEAR
JOY
TERROR
CONFIDENCE
LOW SELF ESTEEM
ETC..
It's important to me to have a safe and comfortable environment while practicing with students. So the best thing to do is start early. Don't wait to begin driver training. You will receive valuable insight that will be crucial on test day.
